I had been working on my application for the City of Joondalup 2023 Community Art Exhibition for the last 6 months. This is my first time entering an exhibition - and with encouragement from friends and family I finally took the plunge.
I decided to enter my piece titled 'Lucky Bay, Albany', a painting created from soft pastels. Lucky Bay depicts a wave breaking across the bay located in the south coast of Western Australia.
The exhibition ran from 20th March - 15th April at Lakeside Shopping Centre, Joondalup. It was a great experience attending the Gala Awards Evening and meeting many talented artists in my local area.
I decided to visit the exhibition one last time of the Easter Break to take a couple of extra photos...only to discover that Lucky Bay had sold. I was literally having happy tears in the shopping centre! To this date, I'm still not sure who the buyer is - however, I am incredibly grateful for you. Thankyou for appreciating my art and helping make this dream of mine come true.
