Today I focused on trying to get the clouds 3D in the top half the painting. There is so much shadow and depth to be created here. I feel like I'm progressing with the clouds one minute, and then the next, they are just not looking fluffy.
Taking a step back, I really had to look at how the clouds were position in the photo image I had been given. They are actually not big and fluffy like the ones in the lower section. The plane is flying out of them, so somehow they need to be flattened, but still have some dimension in them. I'm also mindful about not losing the blue from the sky and ocean below. Today was all about blending...
